About TyreRank

Every new tyre sold in the EU has a label for wet grip, fuel efficiency and noise. The labels are all in a public EU database, but that database shows one registration at a time. TyreRank puts the 304,417 registrations side by side, so you can see how a tyre compares with every other tyre in the same size, what its label means on the road, and which other brands carry identical labels.

We are independent. We are not affiliated with the European Commission or any tyre maker or retailer, and no one pays to appear here or to change a ranking. The site is funded by advertising, which is labelled and kept apart from the data.

Data status

We download the full EPREL tyre registry every day and rebuild every page from it. The current data is as of 23 October 2026: 304,417 registrations. In the 30 days before that date, 4,519 registrations and 165 new patterns were added to the registry.

Editorial principles

• One official source. Every label value comes from EPREL. We do not use reviews, test results or marketing claims.
• Facts, not verdicts. We show classes, shares and estimates. We do not call a tyre good or bad; a label is one part of a tyre’s performance (it says nothing about dry braking, handling or wear).
• Every method is public. Our methodology explains each grouping and calculation.
• Corrections. If a tyre is under the wrong name or a value looks wrong, tell us. We check it against the registry and fix it in the next update.
