What the figures are

Label values on TyreRank are copied from the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL), where tyre suppliers declare them. We do not test tyres and cannot guarantee that a declared value is correct. Rankings and shares are calculated by us from those declarations; braking distances, fuel savings and noise comparisons are estimates from the middle of each class range and do not describe any particular tyre, car or road.

A tyre label covers only wet grip, rolling resistance and external noise. It says nothing about dry braking, handling, aquaplaning, wear or durability. Check the label on the tyre itself and the vehicle manufacturer’s approved sizes, load and speed ratings before you buy. Nothing on this site is advice on which tyre is safe or legal for your vehicle.

Brand and pattern names appear only so that you can find a tyre. TyreRank has no link with the European Commission, any tyre maker or any retailer, and none of them has reviewed or approved this site. EPREL data is reused under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU.
